More Arrests by CLEAN Team in Miami and Fulton Counties

Miami/Fulton Counties – A recent sweep by members of the CLEAN Team resulted in seven arrests from Fulton and Miami Counties.

Recently, officers from the CLEAN Team served a search warrant on a residence at 861 Cherry Tree Lane, Rochester, IN. Officers allegedly found heroin, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Christopher Shirrell, 31, and Merle Stickler, 24, both from Rochester, IN were incarcerated in the Fulton County Jail. Shirrell faces charges for dealing heroin, obstruction of justice, possession of marijuana, and visiting a common nuisance. Stickler faces criminal charges for possession of heroin, maintaining a common nuisance, and dealing heroin.

A separate investigation by CLEAN Team members led to a search warrant on a residence at 1629 Meridian Road, Apartment E, Rochester, IN. During their search, officers allegedly found heroin and  a syringe. Nathan Sedlacek, 29, Rochester, IN, was incarcerated in the Fulton County Jail to face charges for possession of heroin, possession of a syringe, and visiting a common nuisance.

An additional investigation by CLEAN Team members lead to a search warrant being executed on a two trailers at 1812 North State Road 19, Peru, IN.  This is the Indian Trails Campground. Officers allegedly found methamphetamine, chemical precursors, two loaded handguns, and drug paraphernalia.  The residents of the trailers, Joyce Morris, 30 and Jay Caldwell, 55, were incarcerated in the Miami County Jail. They face criminal charges for conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of chemical precursors, maintaining a common nuisance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Caldwell faces an additional charge for conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine. Morris has an additional charge for manufacturing methamphetamine.

Officers from the CLEAN Team also assisted the Peru Police Department with the search of a suspicious vehicle in the Kmart parking lot, in Peru. Officers purportedly found a syringe and OxyContin. The vehicle’s occupants, Klayton Walker, 24, and Brandon Phillips, 25, both from Peru, IN, were incarcerated in the Miami County Jail to face criminal charges for possession of a controlled substance and possession of a syringe.

The CLEAN Team is a recently created task force of 11 law enforcement entities that have dedicated resources to fight narcotics in Fulton and Miami Counties. CLEAN stands for Combined Law Enforcement Against Narcotics.  The main focus of the CLEAN Team is narcotics enforcement with an emphasis on methamphetamine related crimes.

Law enforcement officers encourage anyone with information about the possession, distribution, or manufacturing of narcotics to call their local law enforcement agency or the Indiana State Police Drug Tip Line at 1-800-453-4756. Information can be reported anonymously.

All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
