Cold Storm to Spread Rain Across the Bay Area Tuesday into Wednesday.
The National Weather Services has advised that a cold storm, generating off the Gulf of Alaska, will spread precipitation across the San Francisco Bay Area Tuesday into Wednesday. You should expect colder temperatures than usual.
The weather front will arrive in the Novato and North Bay area on Tuesday morning. This weather system should subside early Tuesday evening, but another front will develop late Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. This weather system is expected to taper off by Wednesday evening. Rainfall totals during this entire period is expected to be one-quarter inch to one-half inch. Snow is possible on area mountain peaks above 3000 feet. Flooding during moderate to heavy rainfall is always possible, so please monitor local radio and television stations to stay current on possible hazards in your area.
Northwest winds will increase behind the cold front on Tuesday afternoon and continue to gust locally through Tuesday evening.
Dry weather is expected for Thanksgiving Day. Thanksgiving will be cool during the day with highs in the 50s. Frost warning may come later in the week, so please refer to local weather reports.
Wet weather means wet roadways, so please be extra cautious when traveling during this holiday week. Do not exceed the speed limit and remember that hydroplaning can occur at speeds as low as 35 MPH. Never try to drive across a roadway that appears flooded. Find an alternate route and report it to local authorities.
