Charitable Donations & Curb Painting
The Moreno Valley Police Department has seen an increase in solicitation notices at residences regarding a company painting the house number on the curb. The flyer requests the resident of the home pay a voluntary donation. Is it a scam? Maybe. Do you have to comply? Absolutely not!
The Moreno Valley Police Department advises residents to be on the alert for unauthorized paint crews currently operating within the community. Curb painting service notices have been found on city of Moreno Valley residents' doorsteps. The notice asks residents for a voluntary donation to repaint address numbers on the curb. Some flyers claim to be using the funds to help disabled people and needy children. These alleged charitable companies can be scams. These companies are in no way affiliated with or working at the city's request.
