Two Injured in Miami County Crash
Miami County - Today at approximately 9:00 a.m., officers from the Indiana State Police and the Miami County Sheriff’s Department responded to a two vehicle crash near U.S. 31 at Miami County Road 900 South, in which two people were injured.
The preliminary crash investigation by Trooper Greg Moolenaar revealed that Ryan Lamb, 19, Bunker Hill, IN was driving a 2001 Ford Taurus westbound on County Road 900 South. The Ford failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection of U.S. 31. The Ford drove onto U.S.31 and was hit, in the driver’s side door, by a northbound 2014 Chevrolet Malibu. The Malibu was driven by Debra Miller, 49, Kokomo, IN.
Lamb was transported by ambulance to a Ft. Wayne hospital. He suffered life threatening injuries. Miller was transported by ambulance to a Kokomo hospital with non-life threatening leg injuries.
This is an ongoing investigation, but at this time neither the use of alcohol nor narcotics is suspected as having contributed to this crash.
Trooper Moolenaar was assisted at the crash scene by ISP Sergeant Rick Brown, the Pipe Creek Fire Department, the Grissom Fire Department, the Galveston Fire Department, and Miami County EMS.
