Peru Trio Arrested on Multiple Felony Counts in Logansport

Logansport – Last night, an investigation by the CLEAN Team led to the arrests of Steffen Dines 36, Denise Roberts, 27, and Christina Bowen, 28, all of Peru, IN. The trio was found at the Merry Manor Motel in Logansport, IN. Bowen and Roberts were incarcerated in the Miami County Jail on Miami County arrest warrants alleging felony charges for robbery, burglary, and criminal confinement. Dines was incarcerated in the Cass County Jail on a Miami County arrest warrant alleging battery, robbery, burglary, and criminal confinement.

On November 7, 2015, officers with the CLEAN Team, the Miami County Sheriff’s Department, and the Peru Police Department started an investigation into the alleged robbery of a 25 year-old Peru man.  The investigation revealed that on November 6th the 25 year-old man allegedly went to 472 East Washington Street, Apartment A, Peru, IN to conduct an illegal narcotics deal. While at the apartment, the 25 year-old man was battered by Dines and made to strip to his underwear. Dines purportedly stole the 25 year-old man’s illegal narcotics.  Bowen, Roberts, and Dines allegedly stole the man’s car and forced him to travel with them as they stole more narcotics from the 25-year-old’s residence. The trio also allegedly stole cash from the man’s wallet, and made him withdraw cash from an ATM machine.  They eventually returned to the Washington Street apartment. The 25 year-old man was eventually allowed to leave the apartment. He did suffer facial injuries during the ordeal.

Arrest warrants were issued for Bowen, Roberts, and Dines. Those warrants were served last night by officers from the CLEAN Team and the Logansport Police Department.
