*Update-Troopers Investigating Persons Found with Apparent Gunshot Wound on I-70; Victim Identified-Update*
Indianapolis, IN- Indiana State Police troopers from the Indianapolis District are currently working an incident on the east side of Indianapolis on I-70 WB at the 88.8mm, (I-465 NB to I-70 WB), where a man appears to have suffered a gunshot wound.
Yesterday evening, November 25th at approximately 6:30 p.m., troopers were sent to I-70 WB at the 88.8mm on the report of a disabled vehicle. When troopers arrived they found an unresponsive male in the vehicle with an apparent gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel were summoned and transported the male subject to Eskenazi Hospital. The male was the only person in the vehicle.
ISP detectives and crime scene investigators secured the scene on the interstate and the Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was impounded to a secure location. Investigators confirmed the pickup has several bullet holes in the windshield and driver’s side door.
The victim has been identified as Derrick Gregory, 30, of Indianapolis. He is listed in critical condition at Eskenazi Hospital.
