Thanksgiving Eve Crash Seriously Injures Seventeen Year Old
Bartholomew County-Yesterday evening, at approximately 7:30 PM, the Indiana State Police and Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department responded to a crash on County Road 330 West near County Road 450 North in which a seventeen year old Columbus girl was seriously injured.
According to the initial investigation by Trooper Matt Holley, the 1995 Buick passenger car being driven by Cheyenne K. Armstrong, 17, Columbus, was southbound on County Road 330 West when the vehicle left the roadway for an unknown reason. After leaving the roadway, the vehicle rolled numerous times before coming to rest. Armstrong was extricated from the vehicle before being flown to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis with multiple serious internal injuries. Her condition is unknown at this time. It is believed that Armstrong’s speed was a contributing factor in this crash.
Trp. Holley was assisted by the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department, German Township Fire Department, Columbus Fire Department, Bartholomew County EMS, and Lifeline Medical Helicopter.
