WINTER STORM WARNING FOR CHEROKEE COUNTY IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT THRU MIDNIGHT TUESDAY NIGHT
The National Weather Service issued a WINTER STORM WARNING for CHEROKEE COUNTY from midnight tonight thru midnight Tuesday night.
Light Snow or freezing drizzle may begin as early as Sunday evening. Moderate snow by daybreak Monday, with periods of heavy snow occurring Monday and Monday night. Light snow expected to linger into Tuesday.
Snow totals of 6-10 inches are expected during the duration of this snowstorm.
A very light glaze of ice is possible Sun evening into Monday morning due to freezing drizzle.
Wind speeds will range from 5-15mph while the bulk of the snow falls all of Monday. Northwest winds will increase later Monday night and Tuesday, when wind speeds will be 15-25mph. Visibility will be reduced to less than a mile at times.
Drifting snow and hazardous travel conditions expected Monday into Tuesday.
