12/2/15, press release: Burglary

On November 28th, 2015 at approximately 4:20 AM the Burlington Police were called to a burglary in progress in a residential unit on Maple St. near the intersection of St. Paul St.

Upon arrival, officers met with a female victim who reported awakening to the male suspect standing above her bed touching her in a sexual manner. The victim described the suspect as being approximately six feet tall, having a slim build, wearing his hair in a corn rows, wearing black athletic pants with a tapered fit and a dark red down jacket that was hooded. The victim screamed which startled the suspect and woke another occupant of the apartment. The suspect was chased on foot for a short distance by the other occupant of the apartment but was not apprehended or identified.

The Burlington Police urge residents to lock their doors and windows to prevent unwanted entries into their homes. Additionally, investigators are asking anyone with information about this incident to call Det. Dan Gilligan at (802) 540-2247 or Champlain Valley Crime Stoppers at (802) 864-6666.
