On 12-03-2015 at approximately 2:16 pm, Avondale Estates police officers were dispatched to a burglary at a residence in the 900 block of Hess Drive. Upon arrival, officers met with the homeowner. The residence was checked by police officers and determined no one was inside and no items were reportedly taken.

The homeowner had left the residence around noon this date and returned at about 2:15 pm and upon entry to the residence discovered a window pane broken in the back door and the back door partially open. It was unclear whether entry had been made but no items were missing from the residence.

Residents are encouraged, especially during the holiday season, to remember to secure all locks of all doors and to keep valuables and gifts away from open areas of doors and windows where they can be easily seen from outside. If any suspicious people or vehicles are observed, please contact 911 immediately.
