Just after midnight this morning, WFPD Officers were working the scene of a one car accident at the intersection of Southwest Pkwy and University. Due to the location of the accident, an unoccupied WFPD patrol vehicle with emergency lights activated was being used to divert traffic around the scene. A white Dodge Ram pickup traveling westbound on Southwest Pkwy failed to move over and struck the police unit. The driver was identified as 23 year old Dennis Roeder. Following an on scene investigation and field sobriety testing, Roeder was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and transported to the Wichita County Jail. No injuries were reported and the area was cleared without any further incidents.
