Man and Woman from Ossian Arrested on Drug Charges in Allen County
(Allen County, IN)-An Indiana State Trooper arrested a man and a woman, both from Ossian, on numerous drug-related charges yesterday afternoon after stopping to check on their broken down vehicle on I-469.
According to Trooper Caleb Anderson, at approximately 3:35 p.m. yesterday afternoon, he observed a gray Dodge passenger vehicle parked alongside northbound I-469 near the 14.0 mile marker in Allen County. After stopping and making contact with the couple, he smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the inside of the vehicle.
The driver, identified as 19 year old Dillon Jay Jackson and the passenger, 25 year old Jessica Marie Dutt, both of the 11000 block of north State Road 1 in Ossian were both wanted on arrest warrants. Jackson was wanted in Wells County for probation violation relating to synthetic marijuana and Dutt was wanted in DeKalb County for possession of paraphernalia.
A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed approximately five grams of heroin, more than 130 grams of synthetic marijuana, more than four grams of marijuana, 15 Adderall pills which is a Schedule II controlled substance and more than $700 in American currency. All were collected as evidence and submitted to the Fort Wayne Regional Laboratory. Both were taken into custody and incarcerated in the Allen County Jail. Dutt was being held for DeKalb County on the arrest warrant. Jackson is preliminarily charged in Allen County with the following:
- Dealing a Narcotic Drug
- Dealing Synthetic Marijuana Over 30 Grams
- Possession of Synthetic Marijuana (prior conviction)
- Possession of Marijuana (prior conviction)
- Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance
All Suspects Are Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty in a Court of Law
