On 12/10/2015 just after 11:00 pm, 32 year old registered sex offender Deborah L. Martin of Kendallville was apprehended in the 6900 block of North Old US 27 in Steuben County’s rural Jamestown Township. Martin, formerly of Orland, was wanted out of Steuben County on an arrest warrant charging Martin with one count of level 6 felony failure to register as a sex or violent offender. She was taken into custody without incident by the US Marshals Service Great Lakes Taskforce. The arrest warrant followed a Steuben County Sheriff’s investigation into allegations that Martin allegedly failed to report a move from Steuben County within the lawful time period. Once the arrest warrant was issued by the Steuben County Superior Court, Sheriff’s detectives contacted Senior Inspector William Boothe of the US Marshals Service Northern District of Indiana for assistance in apprehending Martin. Senior Inspector Boothe is the Sex Offender Investigations Coordinator and part of the US Marshals Service Great Lakes Taskforce. Martin was booked into the Steuben County Jail and remains held in lieu of a $3,000.00 surety bond.
