Theft of Donations for Veteran’s Walk of Honor Ends in Shocking Way.

On Tuesday December 15th, 2015 at about 9:45 AM Anderson Police Department was dispatched to a petty theft that had just occurred. Two male subjects were seen stealing the donation jar for the Veteran’s Walk of Honor and walked to the Gap store in the Anderson Factory Outlets. The subjects were last seen headed towards the Anderson Heights area. When the officers arrived in the area they located one of the thieves based off his description which was a white male wearing camo pants and had a shaved head. The suspect immediately fled on foot from the officers. With the CHP helicoptor circling overhead the Anderson Officers pursued the suspect on foot through the neighborhood and eventually on to Highway 273 near Factory Outlets Drive.

As back-up officers began to arrive the primary officer who was chasing the suspect on foot caught up to the thief and deployed his department issued Taser into his torso. The thief who was identified as 22 year old Brian Harvey of Anderson then complied with officers and was arrested without further incident. Harvey had been warned several times during the chase to surrender.

Harvey was positively identified as the thief by Arby’s employees and a witness from the Gap.

Some of the donated money was recovered.

Harvey was booked in to Shasta County Jail for petty theft and resisting arrest
