The Corona Police Department was selected by the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control to receive mini-Grant funding of $15,100 for the fiscal year of 2015/2016 to assist in ABC regulation programs.

Some of the goals of this program are to train patrol officers on ABC regulations, to combat underage drinking and to ensure alcohol-licensed businesses are in compliance. Some of the programs used to accomplish these goals are the “Minor Decoy” operations, “Shoulder Tap” operations, and “IMPACT” operations (Informed Merchants Preventing Alcohol-Related Crime Tendencies).

This project is part of the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control’s Minor Decoy / Shoulder Tap Grant Project, funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The grants awarded by ABC this fiscal year will provide resources for several police agencies. This state and local partnership results in a more effective use of human resources, a reduction in crime, and a more efficient use of taxpayer funds. This project is part of the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control’s Education and Teen Alcohol Enforcement Program Grant, funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
