A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for much of northwest Missouri from 6 pm Sunday evening to 9 pm Monday.
Ongoing precipitation throughout southern and central Missouri will transition to a winter storm beginning Sunday evening through Monday night. River flooding remains a threat, particularly for areas in southern and central Missouri.
This storm system will transition to a winter storm as surface conditions cool Sunday afternoon, with ice as the primary factor to consider heading into Sunday evening into Monday morning. Roadways at this time could become hazardous, particularly during Monday morning's commute.
As conditions cool even further through Monday afternoon, freezing rain/sleet will transition to snow, with areas west of the I-35 corridor favored. Accumulation totals will range from 1-3 inches over the Kansas City metro, with 4-6 inches possible over extreme northwest Missouri and northeast Kansas.
A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for much of northwest Missouri from 6 pm Sunday evening to 9 pm Monday.
Significant uncertainty still exists regarding amount and location of the wintery precipitation, snow & ice.
• Snowfall amounts will likely change!
