Indianapolis – Last week, December 21, 2016, Indiana State Police Superintendent announced the promotion of Rich Myers from the rank of Sergeant to First Sergeant, to serve as the Assistant Chief Public Information Officer for the Indiana State Police.

First Sergeant Myers had previously served as the Public Information Officer (PIO) for the Putnamville State Police Post and most recently as the PIO for the Indianapolis State Police Post.

In his new assignment he will focus on meeting the media’s needs providing information about state police activities of investigative personnel assigned at the ISP General Headquarters offices, as well informing the media and public about events of interest at the Drug Enforcement Section (DES), the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division (CVED), and the ISP Laboratory.

First Sergeant Myers will continue to assist media in the Indianapolis area until a future promotion process identifies his successor to the Indianapolis State Police PIO duty assignment.
