The Valdez Police Department conducted an unattended death investigation. 
On Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at approximately 4:42 p.m., the Valdez Police Department received a request for a welfare check on a resident of the Rainbow Apartments at 111 Hazelet Avenue. The resident had not been seen or heard from for several days.
Officers entered the apartment and discovered 59-year old Jeffrey Lynn Vincelette deceased in the residence from what is believed to be natural causes. It was apparent Mr. Vincelette had been deceased for several days.
The State of Alaska Medical Examiner’s office was notified and cause of death is still under investigation. Next of kin has been notified. Officers assisted the Valdez Fire Department in transporting the decedent to the hospital until next of kin can make further arrangements.
