This AAA program provides a free vehicle tow and ride home for drivers who have consumed too much alcohol while attending local New Year's Eve festivities. This service is free and a proactive effort of AAA to help save lives by keeping DUI drivers off the roadways in Hampton Roads.
Drivers, bartenders, restaurant managers, party hosts, and the passengers of a driver who has been drinking can call (757) 631-1700 to request this free vehicle tow and ride home for the intoxicated driver. All the caller has to say when calling AAA is "I need a Tipsy Tow". This service is free and only valid for a one-way, one-time ride and vehicle tow for the intoxicated driver to their home and does not include a ride for any passengers. AAA does not accept reservations for this service and drivers can expect to be charged by the tow truck contractor for long-distance rides beyond the free Tipsy Tow range.
