Press Release | Automobile / Motorcycle Traffic Collision

On January 5, 2016, at approximately 7:29 a.m., a vehicle vs. motorcycle traffic collision occurred at Stewart and Gray Rd. and Orizaba Ave. The collision occurred when a 48 year old
male resident of Downey was traveling eastbound Stewart and Gray Rd. on a motorcycle. The rider collided with a 2005 Toyota Tacoma making a left turn from northbound Orizaba Ave. to
westbound Stewart and Gray Rd. driven by an 18 year old male resident of Downey.

Downey Fire Department Paramedics pronounced the motorcyclist deceased at the scene of the collision. The driver of the Tacoma was not injured as a result of the collision. The driver of the vehicle was cooperative and did not appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. After being interviewed, he was released.
