ATTENTION: Recreational use trails along Mineral Creek closed Friday and Saturday due to HS Ski Meet 
The following recreational trails will be closed Friday (January 8th) and Saturday (January 9th) for the Valdez Invite Nordic Ski Invitational:
* Mineral Creek Road [from Water Tower Hill through the canyon]
* East Dike sledding area
* East Dike [from USCG Housing to Water Tower Hill]
The Valdez Police Department appreciates your understanding and cooperation, ensuring that over 200 high school skiing athletes are able to safely compete.
Action starts Friday, January 8 @ 3:30 with the relay races and culminates on Saturday, with the individual freestyle races beginning at 11:00 AM at USCG Housing off of Hanagita Street.
There will also be an open race for all community members beginning at 2:00PM on Saturday.
