Winter Storm Warning In Effect Until 7 PM EST Tuesday.

The National Weather Service in Gaylord has issued a Winter Storm Warning, which is in effect until 7 PM EST Tuesday. The Winter Storm Watch is no longer in effect.

Snow will increase in intensity this evening, especially near the Lake Michigan shoreline and continue heavy at times overnight, diminishing around 7 PM Tuesday.
Heavy snow may not reach the Traverse City area until very late tonight or early Tuesday morning.
Snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches are expected.
Look for significant reductions in visibility at times.
Travel will be very difficult to impossible, including during the morning commute on Tuesday. Precautionary/preparedness actions.

Instructions:

A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather conditions are occurring. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. For the latest road conditions, go to the Mdot website at michigan.gov.
