Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash at Rt. 30 and Mill Rd. 
The Absecon Police Department was dispatched to a pedestrian motor vehicle crash that occurred Monday, January 11, 2016 at 11:57pm on Rt. 30 at the intersection with Mill Rd. Investigation revealed that twenty-four year old Tanvir Ahmed of Atlantic City was walking across Rt. 30 against the traffic signal. A 2004 Chevrolet Malibu operated by sixty-five year old Nicholas Moiras of Egg Harbor City was traveling westbound on Rt. 30 and struck Mr. Ahmed. Mr. Ahmed was pronounced dead on scene by the county medical examiner’s office.
The eastbound and westbound left lanes of Rt. 30 were closed for approximately two and a half hours for the investigation.
The incident is being investigated by Ptl. Jeffrey Mazer and Ptl. Christian F. Cavileer of the Traffic Safety Unit with possible charges pending. Anyone with additional information contact the Absecon Police Department at 609-641-0667.
