Montcalm County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a report of a crash involving a school bus and a horse and buggy. The crash was reported at 8:22 A.M. on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at the intersection of Greenville Road (M-91) and Dickerson Lake Road, Montcalm Township.
The investigation revealed that a Montcalm Area ISD school bus had been travelling east on Dickerson Lake road and was stopped for the stop sign at Greenville Road (M-91) waiting to make a left turn. The horse and buggy being operated by Ade Miller, age 56 from Lakeview, was headed south on Greenville Road (M-91) and stopped briefly at Dickerson Lake Road. The horse and buggy as well as the bus began to pull into the intersection at the same time causing the horse to strike the bus in the buses front driver’s side fender. The bus and buggy sustained minor damage.
There were four students on the bus and everyone involved were not injured. Miller reports his horse appeared unharmed as well.
