BENTON, MISSOURI - Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter said a man is in custody charged with child abuse.
Juan Gonzales Morin Jr. a/k/a/ JJ (39) Blodgett is charged with abuse of a child and his bond has been set at $75,000.
Walter said his office was assisting an investigator from the Missouri Children’s Division Tuesday afternoon. During the investigation obvious injuries were observed on Morin’s 13 year old son. After further investigation, it was discovered that Morin had allegedly caused the injuries after finding a behavior note from the son’s school. It is alleged that Morin struck the child in the face multiple times, covered his noise to keep him from breathing, slammed his head in to the wall, kicked the child in the stomach and beat him with a clothes hanger and a belt. It’s also alleged that Morin bit the child on the arm.
The child was removed from the residence by the children’s division.
Morin was arrested Friday and admitted to some of the allegations.
