At approx. 0438 hrs Officers responded to 1040 Central Freeway, Whataburger, for report of a robbery. The suspect was described as a white male wearing a brown jacket and green bandana mask. Officers located a subject matching that description walking in the El Chico parking lot. The subject attempted to elude Officers but was quickly detained. The subject was identified as Brent Wayne Nichols 6/13/72. He was in possession of a plastic bag containing cash, coins and a Whataburger coupon. Nichols was arrested for Aggravated Robbery and transported to jail.
Another attempted robbery occurred earlier at approx. 0312 hrs where the suspect entered the Executive Inn at 1750 Maurine St. and handed the clerk a bag and a note. The suspect was described as a white male wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and a light colored bandana mask. Nichols is also the suspect in this attempted robbery.
