THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LOUISVILLE HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 2 AM TO 6 PM CST WEDNESDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.
* TIMING...SNOW BEGINNING BETWEEN MIDNIGHT AND 3 AM WEDNESDAY. THE BULK OF THE SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED BETWEEN 3 AM AND NOON.
* ACCUMULATIONS...3 TO 5 INCHES OF SNOW IS EXPECTED. PRECIPITATION MAY END AS LIGHT FREEZING RAIN OR DRIZZLE...CREATING A GLAZE ON MOST SURFACES.
* MAIN IMPACTS...HAZARDOUS ROAD CONDITIONS...ESPECIALLY FOR THE WEDNESDAY MORNING COMMUTE. EXPECT TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES AND PLAN FOR DELAYS IN GETTING TO YOUR DESTINATION. SNOW WILL QUICKLY ACCUMULATE ON ROAD SURFACES.
* OTHER IMPACTS...A BRIEF PERIOD OF LIGHT FREEZING DRIZZLE OR RAIN IS POSSIBLE AS THE SNOW ENDS WEDNESDAY MORNING. A FEW HUNDREDTHS OF AN INCH OF ACCUMULATION ARE POSSIBLE BEFORE THE END OF THE DAY WEDNESDAY.
