Employee of the Quarter Award
for the Fourth Quarter – 2015
Master Police Officer Michael Glover
The Southern Pines Police Department is pleased to announce the “Employee of the Quarter Award” for the fourth quarter of 2015. This award recognizes police department employees who have provided exemplary service to the community or performed in a manner worthy of recognition. This award is the result of a peer nomination and action by the supervisory and command staff of the Southern Pines Police Department.
Master Police Officer Michael Glover is the recipient of this award for the fourth quarter of 2015. Officer Glover was selected due to his diligence and tenacity in investigating incidents which occurred during the fourth quarter of 2015.
During the fourth quarter of 2015, Master Police Officer Michael Glover was personally responsible for making a total of twenty four (24) arrests. Among these arrests were four (4) involving a felony breaking and entering, seven (7) for driving while intoxicated and served eight (8) active outstanding arrest warrants. Additionally, during the fourth quarter of 2015, Officer Glover conducted an investigation following two breaking and entering incidents in the Brookside Park Apartment complex. Officer Glover’s persistence and tenacity in conducting the subsequent follow up investigation in these breaking and entering incidents resulted in five (5) felony arrests, clearing not only the two breaking and entering incidents in the Brookside Park Apartments, but one additional breaking and entering incident that occurred in October of 2015 as well.
Master Police Officer Michael Glover is a fifteen (15) year veteran of law enforcement holding several technical certifications, in addition to a General Instructor Certification teaching in the North Carolina Basic Law Enforcement Program (BLET). Officer Glover is also a Traffic Reconstruction Specialist for the Southern Pines Police Department. In the award letter presented to Officer Glover, Chief Temme stated:
“I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank you, not only on behalf of myself and your coworkers here at the Southern Pines Police Department, but on behalf of the community we all serve as well. You consistently have provided highly creditable police services while upholding the highest ideals of the police profession. You have distinguished yourself from your peers by your actions.”
