Conyers Police to Provide Active Shooter Preparedness Training for Citizens

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Conyers Police to Provide Active Shooter Preparedness Training for Citizens

(Conyers, GA—January 20, 2016) Conyers Police Department is offering active shooter preparedness training to citizens interested in learning how to best react to such an incident. Unfortunately, the police are not the first responders to the scene, you are. The goal of this training is to educate you on where to go, what to do, and what you should be prepared to do should you find yourself in the area of an active shooter.
You may sign up for one of three sessions that are offered in February at the police department. Sessions will last approximately one hour. Email or call Sergeant Greg Carson 678 374-5600 ext. 7540 or [email protected]. Please leave your name, phone number, and how many are attending. RSVP as soon as possible as space is limited.
Sessions are currently scheduled for:
• Monday, February 8th at 10 a.m.
• Friday, February 12th at 10 a.m.
• Thursday, February 18th at 6:30 p.m.
Sergeant Carson is also available to schedule training at your place of business or place of worship with your own staff or parishioners. See the contact information above.
“In today’s climate we realize the importance of training not only our officers, but educating our citizens as well,” explains Chief Gene Wilson. “We are pleased to get this important project off the ground and available to the public.”
