Winter Storm and Flood Watch issued

The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood watch for our city.

A COASTAL FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF MODERATE OR MAJOR TIDAL FLOODING. BE PREPARED TO BEGIN TAKING APPROPRIATE ACTION TO PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY. FOLLOW THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF LOCAL EMERGENCY
MANAGEMENT OFFICIALS. BE SURE TO CHECK THE LATEST FORECAST FROM TIME TO TIME IN CASE A WARNING IS ISSUED OR ANY NEW INFORMATION BECOMES AVAILABLE.

Tides in the atlantic city area are predicted to be at 7 ft Saturday morning, 7-7.5 feet Saturday Night and 7.5 to 8 feet Sunday morning. If the tides reach 8 feet, that is considered major flooding. We encourage all of our residents who live in areas that are prone to flooding to move vehicles and property to higher ground.
