Blizzard Warning in effect for Mercer County.

* A Blizzard Warning has been issued for Mercer County by the National Weather Service in Mount Holly.

* Expect snow to begin late Friday evening in the 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. range.
* Snow will increase in intensity after midnight Friday evening/Saturday morning and continue through Sunday morning.
* This is expected to be a heavy, wet snow that will stress tree branches & power lines
* Accumulations for our area are expected in the 10-18 inch range.
* Winds Friday night are expected between 10-20 mph with gusts as high as 40 mph. Winds Saturday morning and evening are expected in the 40-45 mph range.
* Storm expected to exit sometime Sunday morning/early afternoon.

Instructions:

* PLEASE STAY OFF ALL ROADS AFTER 9 P.M.
* CHECK ON THE ELDERLY AND BRING ALL PETS IN FROM THE OUTDOORS.
* SOME POWER OUTAGES ARE EXPECTED AS THE WET SNOW WILL STRESS TREES & POWER LINES.
* ONLY CALL 911 IN THE EVENT OF A TRUE EMERGENCY.
