Residents are advised to clear snow away from direct vent pipes for furnaces, fireplaces, water heaters and clothes dryers. Damage can result to "choked off" units and increase dangerous carbon monoxide levels.
If there is a fire hydrant in front of or near your residence, please clear away snow to assist the fire department should the hydrant be needed.
