Redding Woman Arrested for Assaulting Boyfriend with her Vehicle

On Sunday, January 24th 2016, at about 7:42 P.M., Anderson Police Officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Lodgepole Avenue, for a reported disturbance in progress. Police responded to the location and contacted 21 year old, Redding resident Ashley Nicole Ricketts who was sitting in her 2002, Ford Mustang. Police also contacted 43 year old, Redding resident Mikah Nelson.

As a result of the investigation, Anderson Police learned that Ashley Ricketts had intentionally rammed Nelson’s vehicle at least twice, during a heated argument. Ricketts pinned Nelson’s legs between the vehicles during the episode and he sustained abrasions on his legs from the incident.

When interviewed, Ashley Ricketts told responding officer’s that she rammed Nelson and his vehicle because she was upset with him. Nelson was arrested by police for felonious assault with a deadly weapon and for domestic violence related charges. She was booked into the Shasta County Jail without incident.
