SOCIAL MEDIA THREAT
Law Enforcement Agencies became aware of a social media post describing a non-specific threat to students in various school districts including Van Buren, Ypsi-Lincoln and Ann Arbor. There are multiple Law Enforcement Agencies working together to investigate this matter and identify the root of the threat. The threat is viewed as "non-credible" and the Van Buren School District remains open for learning. As with any threat, there is a response of heightened awareness. The Van Buren Township Police Department is committed to the safety and security of all residents and citizens in our community and will increase our patrol efforts in the area of all Van Buren Public Schools throughout the school day.
