Parental abduction investigated by Covina PD leads to a criminal charge against the suspect. Child is still missing.
On January 22, 2016, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office filed one count of Child Stealing (PC 278) against the father suspected of abducting his 10 year old son on January 15, 2016, during a court ordered visitation. The suspect in the case, Michael Joseph Stevens, and the victim, Michael Adam Stevens, have not been seen since the date of the abduction and their whereabouts are still unknown.
The victim is 10 year old Michael Stevens, who is described as a white male, 5-01, 133 lbs., brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a blue striped shirt, gray zippered hooded sweatshirt and blue/white Nike shoes.
The suspect is Michael Joseph Steven (aka Steve Geare and Jesus Aspera), a 49 year old white male, 5-09, 180 lbs., with brown eyes, black hair and a receding hairline. The suspect was last seen wearing blue jeans, a blue/white button down shirt and a dark colored baseball hat.
The suspect is possibly driving a gray or black 2006 Toyota truck. The license plate on the vehicle is unknown at this time.
The suspect's last known address is in San Bernardino and it is unknown were the victim's biological mother resides.
