Muncie Man Arrested For Felony OWI With Juveniles In the Vehicle
Muncie – A traffic stop for speeding led to the arrest of a Muncie man last night for felony Operating While Intoxicated with Endangerment. Around 10:20 p.m. last night Trooper Sam Cook was driving through Muncie when he got behind a black Chrysler 300, with three occupants, which was north bound on Madison St. from the area of Willard St.
Cook clocked the car in excess of the 30 M.P.H. zone, and initiated a traffic stop after the driver threw a lit cigarette out of the window. After speaking with the driver, Johntrell Vance, age 29 of Muncie, and further investigation, it was determined Vance was driving while impaired on Marijuana, as well as in possession of Marijuana.
Vance was arrested for two counts of Operating While Intoxicated with Endangerment, Level 6 Felony, as he had two teenage female passengers in the vehicle under the age of 18. He was also charged with Operating While Intoxicated with a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Marijuana, both misdemeanor charges.
Vance was lodged in the Delaware County Jail. Motorists are encouraged to report suspected impaired drivers by calling 911. Give a vehicle description, location, and direction of travel. Never follow an impaired driver.
