Madison County – The traffic stop of a straight truck for speeding, shortly after midnight on Saturday morning, led to the arrest of the driver for felony possession of Methamphetamine.  Around 12:15 a.m. Saturday morning, Trooper Kendrick Donald was on I-69 around the 224 mile marker, when he clocked a large straight truck north bound at 83 M.P.H. in the 65 M.P.H. zone.

Donald stopped the truck for speeding, and to do a commercial motor vehicle inspection.  After speaking to the driver and passenger, Donald became suspicious.  Trooper Rich Clay was nearby, and came to assist with the stop. Trooper Donald walked his K-9 partner around the outside of the truck, with the dog alerting to the presence of narcotics.

A search of the truck yielded less than a gram of Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.  Arrested was the driver, Stephen Fuller, age 37 of Leoma, TN., charged with Level 6 Felony Possession of Methamphetamine, and a misdemeanor charge of Possession of Paraphernalia. Fuller was lodged in the Madison County Jail. The co-driver of the truck was not charged.
