Ripley County-On Friday January 29, after a month long investigation, detectives from the Indiana State Police, Versailles, arrested Robert Lee Laird, age 38, Jeffersonville, IN on one count of child molestation, a class 4 felony.
The investigation that led to the arrest of Laird began on December 30, 2015 when the Indiana State Police received a report of possible sexual abuse that had occurred at a home in Versailles a few days earlier. The alleged incident involved a male victim under the age of 14. Detectives arrested Laird at his place of employment in New Albany after the warrant was issued in the Ripley County Circuit Court.
Due to the victim in this case being a minor, no further information will be released to protect the identity of the victim.
