Announces Flight of Wanted Fugitive
Derrick Delmont Malloy

The Southern Pines Police Department is in possession of an outstanding arrest warrant for Derrick Delmont Malloy. This outstanding arrest warrant is for the charge of Manufacturing, Selling or Delivering or Possessing with the Intent to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver a Controlled Substance Within 1,000 Feet of the Boundary of a Child Care Center, or an Elementary or Secondary School. In addition, there are ten (10) additional outstanding warrants in Moore County, NC for Derrick Delmont Malloy for failing to appear in court to answer for previous drug and weapons charges which include; Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Cocaine with the Intent to Sell or Deliver, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of a Weapon of Mass Destruction and Resisting a Public Officer. Derrick Delmont Malloy’s last known address was on West Wisconsin Avenue in Southern Pines, NC. Previous addresses used include North Gaines Street in Southern Pines, NC and Cozy Oaks Lane in Aberdeen, NC.

On Tuesday February 2, 2016, at approximately 2:15 PM, Derrick Delmont Malloy was operating a vehicle northbound on Highway 73 near Provost Road in Jackson Springs, NC. Derrick Malloy was distracted by a North Carolina State Highway Patrol Officer on Highway 73 and exited the roadway striking a tree. Derrick Delmont Malloy then fled on foot leaving behind a large quantity of crack cocaine in the vehicle he was the sole occupant of. Given the severity of the impact and subsequent airbag deployment, the probability exists that Derrick Delmont Malloy was injured and may be seeking medical attention. The Southern Pines Police Department would like to make the following statement in the matter of Derrick Delmont Malloy “Every person who shall conceal, hide, harbor, feed, clothe, or offer aid and comfort to Derrick Delmont Malloy, in violation of NCGS § 14-259 Harboring or Aiding Certain Persons is subject to arrest for a Class I Felony.”

There is currently a $6,000.00 reward for information leading to the arrest of Derrick Delmont Malloy. Derrick Delmont Malloy should be considered armed and dangerous. Do not approach, detain or attempt to apprehend Derrick Delmont Malloy but rather call 911 immediately.

Derrick Delmont Malloy is described as a black male, 33 years of age, black hair (dreadlocks), brown eyes, 5’10, 170 pounds with a slight beard. Derrick Delmont Malloy was last seen wearing a white shirt and tan pans with a possible facial injury from an airbag deployment. Attached is a wanted flyer for Derrick Delmont Malloy which contains additional identifying information.
