Anderson Man Arrested at Scene of House Fire
On Sunday, February 7th 2016, at about 0135 hours, Anderson Police were dispatched to a reported structure fire in the 1500 block of First Street, Anderson California. As Officer’s arrived on scene, they saw unknown person(s) inside. As police attempted to force entry for rescue and to call subject(s) out, it became clear that fleeing from the burning house fire was not a priority for the occupants.
After observing a marijuana grow inside and having at least one occupant blatantly ignore orders to exit the home, Officer’s contacted 33 year old, Floyd Jacob Casados Jr., of Anderson. Casados ran out of the house into the front yard and then away from police in an attempt to flee the scene.
Casados failed to obey the lawful orders of Anderson Police Officers and was finally subdued by Taser. Casados who admitted to drinking, offered no explanation or information regarding the fire and was transported to a local hospital and then booked at the Shasta County Jail for obstructing, resisting or delaying a peace officer.
While at the jail, Casados kicked another inmate in the face and made an unsuccessful attempt to escape during the booking process. Casados was released from the jail at about 9:30 A.M. At this point, Anderson Fire Investigators and Cal-Fire Investigators had made substantial progress in their case and determined that Casados had purposely started the house fire. Upon learning Casados had been released from custody, Anderson Fire Investigators and Cal-Fire Investigators began checking the area south of the jail and came across Casados walking on HWY 273 near Ronna Lane.
When fire investigators attempted to contact Casados, again he attempted to flee, running on foot across the highway. Casados failed to comply with fire investigators lawful orders but was eventually subdued and taken back into custody. Casados was again booked at the jail on suspicion of arson and for a second violation of obstructing, resisting or delaying a peace officer.
