Potential Traffic Delays in Hacienda Heights due to Chinese New Year Celebration
A Chinese New Year celebration will be held at the Hsi Lai Temple, 3456 Glenmark Drive, Hacienda Heights. This is a major event in the Buddhist faith, and in past years, more than sixty thousand people have attended this event on the main day, which is Monday, February 8th, 2016. The other celebration dates will be: Tuesday, February 9th, Saturday, February 13th, Sunday, February 14th, Saturday, February 20th and Sunday, February 21st. The majority of visitor parking will be located at La Subida School, 15444 Regalado Drive, Hacienda Heights where shuttle buses will transport visitors to the Temple. The large shuttle buses will drop off visitors at Glenmark and Glencove then the Shuttle Buses will exit eastbound Glenmark Drive toward Allenton at Colima Road. Throughout the neighborhood surrounding the Temple, please expect traffic delays. Public Works will be responsible for placement of “No Parking” signs and barricades in the residential streets near the Temple. Residents will be issued parking passes. All vehicles not displaying the appropriate passes during the days indicated for the celebration will be towed. Those vehicle displaying proper handicap permits will be allowed to park on the Temple grounds, space permitting, or upon arriving at the Temple gate, the handicap person(s) will be allowed to exit the vehicle and the driver will be directed to off-site parking. Please display the handicap signs prior to turning from Colima Road onto Glenmark Drive.
