On Monday (February 8, 2016) at approximately 12:55 p.m., Greene County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a home located in the 4600 block of East Farm Road 48 where they located 26-year old LINDSAY A. ARNOLD deceased from a single gunshot wound. Deputies searched for a 37-year old black male who had left the location prior to Deputies' arrival. At 2:44 p.m., Springfield Police Officers stopped a black 2002 Hyundai Elantra matching the description of the suspect vehicle at a location in south side Springfield; CARLTON A. WALLACE was arrested without incident and transported to the Greene County Jail.

"Through the course of this investigation, we have learned Ms. Arnold and Mr. Wallace resided in the same home together and were involved in a relationship. Deputies have responded to this location several times in the past for various calls for service including domestic disturbance," states Sheriff Jim Arnott. "A 6-year old child who was also living in the home has been taken into protective custody and we are working with the Division of Social Services - Children's Division to ensure the child is in a safe environment."
