Another Bust on Drugs, Meth and Heroin, Headed to Scott County-Four Arrested
Clark County-Yesterday afternoon, trooper Mark LaMaster from the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg stopped a 2001 Chevrolet Malibu traveling on Interstate 65 south at the 5.2 Mile Marker in Clark County. He made the stop for a traffic infraction and during the stop Trooper LaMaster could tell something was not right, as the driver and passenger were acting suspicious.
Trooper Lamaster called for Indiana State Police K-9 Handler, Nathan Abbott, with his dog “Teague”, for assistance. “Teague” did a sniff of the perimeter of the Chevrolet Malibu and gave a positive alert to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. As troopers continued the investigation, they ask the passenger, Kevin C. Lucas, 40, of 5th Street in Scottsburg, if they had anything illegal and he replied “Meth”, “Heroin” and “Marijuana”. Narcotics were located in the vehicle as well as scales, nearly five thousand dollars in U. S. Currency and several other items used to deal illegal narcotics.
Kevin C. Lucas was arrested and charged with Dealing in Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine, Dealing in Heroin, Possession of Heroin, Dealing in Marijuana and Possession of Marijuana with a Prior Arrest involving Marijuana. The driver of the 2002 Chevrolet Malibu, Tabatha M. Donahay, 29, of Pine Street in Scottsburg was arrested and charged with Dealing Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine and Maintaining a Common Nuisance.
Before completing this investigation information was learned of another subject that allegedly was enroute to meet with Kevin Lucas and Tabatha M. Donahay. They were to meet for an alleged drug transaction in the Clarksville, IN area. The vehicle enroute to allegedly meet them, a 2002 Ford Crown Victoria, was located by troopers and a Clark County Deputy on Lewis and Clark Parkway.
That vehicle was stopped and approximately 4.5 ounces of Methamphetamine as well as approximately 4.0 grams Heroin were located and seized. The two occupants of the 2002 Ford Crown Victoria were arrested. The driver, Nicole R. Turner, 26, from Presidential Place in Jeffersonville, IN was charged with Dealing Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine and Maintaining a Common Nuisance. The passenger, Denzel L. Ewing, 21, from Sharon Drive in Jeffersonville, IN was charged with Dealing Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine and Maintaining a Common Nuisance.
Troopers were able to determine the seized drugs were allegedly to be transported to Scott County to be sold on the street with a street value of approximately $10,000.00 in U. S. Currency.
All four subjects arrested were incarcerated at the Clark County Jail.
