Full Notification

Due to ocean over wash, standing water, sand and debris, portions of NC 12 remain closed or nearly impassable. The closure is currently between Historic Street north towards Southern Shores. Vehicles trying to drive on NC 12 have become stuck. Additional over wash is expected during this evening's high tide. Please avoid the area at all costs. NCDOT will begin clean up as soon as the over wash ends.
