IRS Phone Scam Advisory 
Today we received several reports regarding the ongoing IRS scam. All calls came from a telephone number with a 509 area code (of note, this is an area code for eastern Washington state).
The technique varied a little on each call. The caller started out by saying that the Sheriff's Office received letters for them and could not deliver the letters. The caller advised them that they were audited and each time the caller told the resident that they owed around $5,000. The caller stated if the resident did not pay the money their drivers license would be revoked, their property would be seized and they would be fined.
This is a scam. Do not provide any personally identifiable information or financial account information.
