Anderson Police offers opportunity for future police officers. APD to pay for training/academy! Testing soon.
Criminal Justice Student Sponsorship Program
To meet the future employment needs of the Anderson Police Department the City of Anderson has implemented a sponsorship program for police officer candidates. The sponsorship seeks to contract criminal justice students with aspirations of becoming an Anderson Police Officer.
The sponsorship program pays for the cost of the academy plus required equipment and ammunition, and offers a signing bonus with paid stipends as the student successfully progresses through the academy. Selected applicants will be contractually committed to a three year employment arrangement as a full time peace officer with the City of Anderson upon successful completion of the academy.
Interested applicants will be required to complete a physical testing assessment, a written test (pass/fail) score, and participate in oral board testing and evaluation. NO LAW ENFORCMENT EXPERIENCE OR CRIMINAL JUSTICE EDUCATION IS REQUIRED TO TEST. We are looking for quality applicants with good moral character that have an interest in pursuing a career in law enforcement.
This is an opportunity for those who could not otherwise afford to quit their current job or gather the necessary financial resources to attend the 23 week academy and begin a career as a police officer.
Testing will be held on Sunday, March 20, 2016. Applications are now being accepted. For application and further information visit the City of Anderson website at http://www.ci.anderson.ca.us/, under Job Opportunities. Print the application and mail or drop off the completed application to the City Clerk Juanita Barnett at the City of Anderson (1887 Howard Street, Anderson, CA 96007).
