An area of mixed precipitation is expected to develop later this evening and move rapidly northeast across the area overnight into Friday morning. Warmer air surging into the region will transition everything over to light rain and drizzle by later Friday morning.
• Light snow, perhaps mixed with freezing rain and sleet, expected to develop later this evening and spread quickly northeast.
• Precipitation transitions to light freezing rain and freezing drizzle from about 2 am till 10 am Friday.
• Areas of greatest concern for light icing will be across central and northeast northern lower Michigan as well as eastern upper Michigan.
• Main impacts expected for secondary and untreated road surfaces. Overall ice accumulations on elevated surfaces should remain minimal with no expected impacts on power lines or trees.
• Secondary and untreated road ! surfaces may remaining icy through Friday despite well above freezing temperatures.
