Methamphetamine and weapons seized after arrest at car stop.
On 02/18/2016 Investigators Jesse Mills and Scott Nations of the Giles County Sheriffs Department and Investigator Mike Pitts of Lincoln County Sheriffs Department conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 31 South in Ardmore. Investigators made contact with the passenger 33 year old Michael Allen Obarr. Investigators could see a gun in the door pocket of the vehicle where Mr. Obarr was sitting. Investigators removed Mr. Obarr from the vehicle and at this time Mr. Obarr became aggressive and began to resist officers. During the struggle Mr. Obarr ingested an unknown amount of methamphetamine. The Giles County Ambulance Service was called and Mr. Obarr was checked out at the scene and cleared for transport to the jail. Mr. Obarr was subdued and placed into custody. Mr. Obarr was transported to Giles County Jail and charged with Possession of a
Firearm During a Dangerous Felony, Resisting Arrest, Tampering with Evidence, Possession Schedule II (Meth) for Resale, and Possession Drug Paraphernalia. Mr. Obarr is being held under a $290,500.00 bond and is due in court on 3/8/2016 at 9:00am.
