Seymour Woman Arrested for Theft from Non-Profit Organization
Madison-Today, at approximately 9:00 a.m., the Indiana State Police arrested Amanda Warner, age 34, Seymour, Indiana for theft from the Madison Gymnastics and Cheer Corporation, a non-profit organization located in Madison, Indiana.
The investigation, conducted by Indiana State Police Detective Tim Denby, began in November of last year when the corporation reported unauthorized transactions and missing money from the corporation’s accounts during 2015. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that Warner, who was treasurer at the time, allegedly transferred $2,200 from the corporation’s accounts into her possession without authorization. Additionally, Warner allegedly spent nearly an additional $1,000 of the corporation’s money to enter her children in gymnastic competitions.
After the conclusion of the investigation, a warrant was issued out of the Jefferson County Circuit Court for Warner for one count of theft, class 6 felony. Trooper Nate Adams arrested Warner this morning when she voluntarily turned herself in at the Jefferson County Jail.
Warner will soon have an initial hearing in the Jefferson County Circuit Court.
