Palmdale Station deputies responded to a “gunshot victim” call on the 1200 Block of West Rancho Vista Boulevard, Palmdale, on Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at 5:56 p.m.

Upon arrival, deputies found a male Hispanic adult on the ground suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Multiple witnesses stated that the suspect was arguing with a male Black adult, who then produced a gun and shot the victim. The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for his injuries. The victim is currently listed in stable condition.

Palmdale Station deputies shared the suspect’s description, including his vehicle, with neighboring stations. Later that evening, Lancaster Station deputies located a vehicle and suspect matching the description provided by witnesses. The suspect was located on the 2800 Block of West Avenue L, Lancaster, in the Stater Brother’s grocery store parking lot.

A gun matching the one described by the witnesses was found in the suspect’s vehicle.

The suspect was arrested and booked for “Attempted Murder” at the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station. He is being held in lieu of $1,000,000 bail.
